About our team
Dr. DANIKA Garby ND, ms.ac.
My name is Danika Garby, owner of Orléans Naturopath. I began my career at the University of Ottawa completing an undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics. This was the beginning of my interest in nutrition and healthy living. Routinely, I began to incorporate concepts I had been taught and as a result, I experienced profound improvement in my general health, energy and state of mind. I realized my vocation lay in helping others to reach their health goals, prevent disease and to heal themselves.
I continued my studies and completed a four-year graduate degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. I augmented my professional credentials with a Master of Science in Acupuncture granted by the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.
My areas of interest include autoimmune conditions, fertility, pain management, digestive problems and stress management.
My experience has helped me understand how to better guide people, who are living with a variety of health conditions, so that they can achieve their optimal state of health.
My name is Shakila Mohmand and I am a registered Naturopathic Doctor. My educational background consists of obtaining a four-year BSc. in Honours Biomedical Science with a minor in Psychology at the University of Ottawa. Knowing that I wanted to approach healthcare from a holistic lens, I then went on to pursue a four-year Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.
In addition to the general scope of practice for Naturopathic Doctors in Ontario, I have also met the naturopathic standards of practice for prescribing and therapeutics, allowing me to offer my patients a broader scope of care.
I have experience working with a wide range of health conditions as well as patient populations and to me, the naturopathic principle of “doctor as teacher” is something I highly resonate with. My goal with patients is to treat the root cause of illness, highlight illness prevention, and educate in order to empower each individual on their own health journey.

Many patients feel like they can’t cope with the demands of everyday life despite their best efforts, and they recognize the impact of that on their physical and mental health.
Dr. Dominika recognizes how the state of your nervous system plays a pivotal role in mental health and chronic disease. She uses a “bottom-up” or bio-psychosocial approach to treating her patients, recognizing the roles that biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors play in a patient’s health.
Dr. Dominika helps to move you from a state of languishing to one where you flourish, so that you can step into your life with resilience, self-efficacy and a sense of purpose.

Dr. Melanie was drawn to pursue Naturopathic Medicine from a young age after navigating the current healthcare system with her own hormonal symptoms. Her goal is not to replace conventional care, but rather complement it by filling in the gaps using evidence-based nutrition, lifestyle and supplement interventions. Dr. Melanie has a special interest and focus in treating women’s health + hormones (PMS, PCOS, heavy/painful periods, fertility) as well as low energy/fatigue.
She believes patients deserve to feel heard and their concerns validated, and aims to have every patient leave their appointment feeling hopeful with a plan in place to address the root cause of their symptoms.
Prior to studying Naturopathic Medicine, Melanie obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, and was a competitive athlete in both gymnastics and track & field. Outside of the office you can find Dr. Melanie enjoying time in nature with her family and golden retriever, Garth.
