Dr. Mohmand has experience working with a wide variety of health concerns and patient populations. She is deeply committed to the naturopathic principle of doctor as teacher, and her approach focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of illness, emphasizing prevention, and empowering patients through education to take charge of their own health.

DR. Maya sankaran nd

Dr. Maya Sankaran, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with a holistic, individualized, and collaborative approach to patient care. She earned her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia with minors in Environmental Sciences and Engineering Business. Prior to becoming a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Maya worked in research and development as a chemical engineer, developing sustainable packaging materials. Dr. Maya credits her engineering background for shaping her thorough, root cause-focused approach to clinical care.

Dr. Maya enjoys supporting patients with a variety of health concerns. A few areas of special interest for her include mental and neurologic health, environmental medicine, metabolic and thyroid imbalances, as well as gastrointestinal health. During her studies, she completed a mental health-focused clinical rotation and an accredited naturopathic residency with additional training in chronic infections and mold illness.

Dr. Maya’s own experiences as a patient navigating the healthcare system led her to naturopathic and integrative medicine. She believes strongly in treating the whole person and facilitating each individual’s innate ability to heal with the appropriate use of naturopathic and conventional treatments. She uses a variety of treatment modalities, including lifestyle counselling, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, and acupuncture. Her approach focuses on meeting patients where they are in their unique health journeys, identifying and addressing underlying contributors to health imbalances, and ultimately guiding patients to become experts in their own health.

Dr. DANIKA Garby ND, ms.ac.

After many meaningful years in general naturopathic practice, Dr. Danika has transitioned to focus exclusively on acute and chronic pain care. This decision comes from a place of deep reflection and purpose. The demands of general practice have grown, and while it has been an honour to care for so many, it became clear that sustaining this broad scope was no longer possible.

Over time, both personal and professional experiences have drawn Dr. Danika toward pain care—particularly her journey as a parent supporting her daughter through Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), and the many patients in her practice whose pain stories have deeply touched and shaped her. Her heart lies in helping those living with pain feel seen, supported, and better connected to care.

While stepping away from general practice has been a difficult decision, Dr. Danika finds comfort in knowing patients will continue to receive thoughtful, attentive care through the clinic. Her colleagues, Dr. Shakila Mohmand ND and Dr. Maya Sankaran ND will continue supporting existing patients whose needs fall outside of this new focus.

Dr. Danika remains deeply grateful for the trust, relationships, and community built over the years. While her role at the clinic has changed, her commitment to compassionate, integrative care continues—with a focused dedication to those navigating acute and chronic pain.
